Dreams 2011 Bull's-Eye

A big dream is the bull,s-eye. We all have dreams over the course of our lives, dreams for our marriage, children, finances, careers, and more. The dream I'm talking about is the overwhelming desire to do something special, something that God has put in your heart when he created you.

Jeremiah is a great example that applies to all of us. The same statement God made to Jeremiah is God's word to you.

Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed the in the belly I knew (aquainted with, a kinsman to) thee; and before thou came out of the womb I sanctified (prepared you, appointed you, dedicated you and prepared) thee, and I ordained the a prophet (to speak by inspiration) unto the nations.

God put the dream in you while you were forming in the womb, and for a very important reason. Follow your big dream, and you will pursue with passion the very thing He created you to do over the course of your whole life.

A person who is pursuing his dream is energized (not by the energizer bunny) but by hope and purpose. His path may not be smooth, but he has direction, his reason for being here---is clear.

The person who thinks his life has no higher purpose, no big idea or goal, his enthusiasm over time will fade. He'll lose his way. Without quite knowing. Emptiness takes the place of the big dream, he'll tend to give in to excuses, passivity and choices that harm himself or others.

Do you recognize yourself or someone else in this pattern?

In the end we are happiest when we are doing what God created us to do, His work by His power. Living our big dream is the very center of how we experience joy.
